Never Again

On the morning of
A velvet orange sky,
When your own hope
Would know no time;
The sun shines reflected
In her twilight eyes,
As her smile sings
Tales of the sublime.

Her dress runs gently
As a river fo wine,
Far more intoxicating
Than the perfumed air.
She offers glimpses of
All that is divine.
Her silken glow
Is beyond compare.

When she takes your
Hand in her caress
And leads you across
The summer day.
The rain drops seem
More or less,
Like heaven's own
Children at play.

She doesn't give you
Time for reasons.
As she dances to the tune
Of the breeze.
Her thoughts lost
In heavenly seasons,
And the joy
She always sees.

But the velvet whisks
Of the night remain,
The best times
You would ever see.
Silken shadows smile
For you again,
At a time
Never again to be.

To Me

She paints the sullen sky,
Her hue of velvet green,
With the joyous smile of a child.
A smile reminiscent of,
A time long since seen,
By her gentle heart so wild.

She sings to the wind,
That whispers to leaves;
The kiss of spring on her lips.
Her eyes gently closed,
But unable to deceive,
The raindrops on her silken fingertips.

Oblivious to all but,
The caress of the snow,
She revels in all she can see.
A mere child enchanted
By ashen flakes on her nose,
She's always a woman to me.
